GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers have room for improvement, even if they have won their first four games.

Coach Mike McCarthy says Vernand Morency had no excuse for a fumble in the Packers' 23-16 victory at Minnesota on Sunday.

Of course, it was the first game action all year for Morency, who injured his knee in the first practice of training camp.

The coach says Morency is better than he showed with that fumble.

But he says Morency otherwise did an excellent job.

He says Ryan Grant's fumble late in the game appeared to be a technical mistake after Grant failed to hold his arms wide enough to get the handoff from Brett Favre.
