Rick Miller hangs on to win this year's NewsChannel 7 Senior Men's Golf Classic.
Miller, playing out of Bull's Eye CC, was in the next to last group to finish on Friday. He did so with a 2-under, 69 for a two day total 143. Then he had to wait a few moments to celebrate.
In the final group, Trapp River's Joel Rhyner needed a birdie putt to force a playoff. But his ball was wedged into a little divot. Once he hit it, it took a couple little bounces which stopped its momentum and the birdie attempt stopped about 2-inches short.
Rhyner ended with a 144.
Stevens Point Country Club was represented with the 3rd and 4th place finishers. Curt Thompson finished 3rd with a 145, after entering day 2 with a 4-shot lead. 2009 winner Stephen Rollins finished with a 146.
