The time has come again to register and qualify for one of the biggest golf tournaments in the state, the NewsChannel 7 Golf Classic. This year’s tournament will be held at Greenwood Hills Country Club in Wausau over 4 days in July.
The Senior Men’s Championship will tee off Thursday, July 21 and Friday, July 22 in the morning each day. It is a 36-hole event that is split into three flights. The Senior Flight is for men ages 50-59, the Super Senior Flight for ages 60-69, and the Legends Flight will feature golfers 70 and over. Sign up today via an entry form in your course’s pro shop!
The Women and Senior Women’s Championship is slated for the afternoon of Friday, July 22. This is an 18 hole tournament where golfers will be placed in flights based on their first 9 holes of play and total player participation. The Women’s Championship is open to ages 16-49 and the Senior Women’s Championship if for ages 50 and up.
The Men’s Classic tees off Saturday July 23 and Sunday, July 24. Golfers age 16 and over qualify at participating courses to enter. Sign up sheets used to qualify are available in your course’s pro shop. Flights are determined after the first 18 holes played Saturday. Making the cut for Sunday play is also determined using Saturday’s scores.
