Ball Sets NCAA Record For Most Rushing Scores

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Wisconsin running back Montee Ball has broken one NCAA record and tied another.

The Football Bowl Subdivision's career record-holder for touchdowns (81) became the career leader in rushing touchdowns (74) during the first half of the Big Ten title game against Nebraska and tied the mark for most career games with two or more scores (25). Ball broke the tie with Travis Prentice of Miami (Ohio) for rushing touchdowns on a 16-yard score midway through the second quarter.

He tied Prentice's record for multi-TD games with a 9-yard run up the middle early in the third quarter.

A week earlier, Ball broke a tie with Prentice's record for career scores (78).

Ball rushed for 2201 yards and three touchdowns and Wisconsin is headed back to their third consecutive Rose Bowl after a huge 70-31 Big Ten Championship win over Nebraska.
