A 25-year-old New London man is in Theda Clark Hospital tonight after authorities say he struck a tree on a snowmobile trail in rural Manawa in Waupaca County.

Authorites say he was traveling on a marked trail alongside Highway 22-110 near Gear Lake Resort toward Manawa when he hit the tree.

The man sustained unmentioned injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. He was the only person on the snowmobile.

Authorities aren't releasing the driver's name until the investigation by the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is complete.
