Crews keep the slopes open as long as the weather permits and conditions are still safe.

The hill was open for a full 12 weeks this season. Many people went down the hill this winter. Total attendance this year tallied at about 15,000 people.

" We're down to fewer rentals during the day. We think schools couldn't afford to send more buses," says Recreation Superintendent Karyn Powers.

Sylvan Hill will officially close at 9:30 Saturday night, March 5th.
