Saturday is the season opener of pheasant hunting in the state of Wisconsin.
According to the Dept. of Natural Resources, hunters should focus on areas with high-quality pheasant habitats, like wetlands, for the best chance of harvest.
During last year's season, more than 57,000 hunters went in search of the bird. Nearly 250,000 pheasants were harvested.
The top counties for harvest include Dane, Fond du Lac, and Waukesha.
