Even though Christmas is over, the entire winter season provides an opportunity to go on a nostalgic sleigh ride.
Starwood Rides, in Ringle, provides horse-drawn sleigh rides.
The experience takes riders back in time, before roads were clogged with automobiles.
The co-owner of the 17-year-old business says the rides incorporate tradition and fun.
"Years ago if you wanted to get anywhere, you went by sleigh simply because the roads weren't plowed. And then they started putting sleigh bells on so you could hear someone coming...because the sleighs were very quiet," said Gail Bayer, who runs the business with her husband.
Recent blustery temperatures have slowed business a bit, but she says riders are still welcome, as long as they bundle up.
Bayer remembers the coldest sleigh ride nearly ten years ago.
Two dozen high school students braved the weather and had the time of their lives at 35 degrees below zero.
