Be ready for some gore when you open the front door Halloween night.

There are bloody, violent costumes on the market for kids as young as 6. Many are inspired by movies such as "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Friday the 13th," and, of course, "Halloween."

Joel Schwartzberg of Montclair, N.J., is among the parents who find it upsetting. He thinks Halloween has strayed from "sickly sweet to just plain sick." Schwartzberg is fighting back with a Web site at tooscarycostumes.com.

Schwartzberg says in his opinion, bloody, sadistic, nightmare-inducing Halloween costumes don't scar kids, but do desensitize them to brutal violence.

Cindy Chapman of Big Lake, Minn., says Halloween is only one night a year, and kids should be allowed to have some fun. But she doesn't allow store-bought costumes for her 9-year-old daughter.

So what do you think?

lol..scary costumes aren't the reason for violent crimes, poor parenting is the reason.
