Some of the students enrolled in Stratford High School's Agriscience classes are only freshmen, but they're already thinking about their future careers.

The Stratford FFA Adviser says she starts most of her classes with a unit on career building, showing students there are more than 250 different career options in agriculture. And while some of her students say they're thinking of careers outside of Ag., others are excited to stay in the rapidly growing industry.

Michael Hartl, an FFA student says, "There's a lot of career options that involve FFA - like we have agricultural engineering, mechanics, and more. You can relate anything back to FFA because everything comes back to agriculture."

NewsChannel Seven's Amy Pflugshaupt talked with the students today about her Agricultural Communications degree and how agriculture plays a vital role in our everyday lives.
