The state budget includes a measure which would make all Wisconsin drivers buy liability insurance for their vehicles.
It would also raise minimum liability requirements, which could mean higher auto insurance premiums for everyone.
According to local agent Andrew Bartelt, the more coverage, the more you pay.
"It's gonna increase the least amount that you can pay for insurnace, because before you were paying for much less insurance, they're gonna of course have to charge you more," Bartelt, of Wayne Syring Insurance Agency in Rib Mountain said.
He supports the idea that everyone be insured and says it could help agencies get more business.
But he fears it will be difficult for the government to enforce, and some Wisconsinites won't be able to afford it.
Anyone pulled over who doesn't have an insurance card would be subject to a $10 fine.

What year and what party & Presidant ennacted the Mandatory Auto Insurance law on a National basis?
U people up north voted Doyle in. Now you need to vote him out.
The current "Responsibility Law" is fine. We don't need another guvmint mandate telling us how to tie our shoes. Anyway, most insurance companies don't want the riff-raff that currently do not have insurance, and passing a law like this will only make some "feel good" and have ZERO effect of the leekers who do not have a pot to pee in. ZERO FROM ZERO = 0
