MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Iraq war is one of the biggest issues in this year's presidential race, but voters are divided on who will handle it best.

Former Army captain Dan Buttery served in Iraq for a year before an injury forced him to retire. The 38-year-old Milwaukee man says he's voting for Republican Senator John McCain because it's important to support the mission and troops.

Jim Wrich worked for a year for the Department of Defense, assessing soldiers' health when they returned from the war. The 70-year-old Madison man says he's voting for Democratic Senator Barack Obama because he thinks the war was unjust.

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse political science professor Joe Heim predicts it will hurt McCain if more people turn against the war, which he has strongly supported.
