CUDAHY, Wis. (AP) -- The Department of Defense has confirmed details of how a suburban Milwaukee man died with another soldier when their vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device in Bayji, Iraq, on Monday.

The Pentagon identified the two as 20-year-old Specialist Steven Christofferson of Cudahy and 26-year-old Sergeant Adam Kohlhaas of Perryville, Missouri. They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Christofferson was a 2006 graduate of Cudahy High School, where he played football, wrestled and ran track.
