Lila M. Weller, age 87, Wittenberg, died on Sunday, June 14, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services, Wausau, at the Homme Home of Wittenberg.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1921 in the township of Franzen, Marathon County, the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle (Matson) Brooks.
In 1941, Lila was united in marriage to Gustave Weller in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1973.
She worked at Gus & Ann’s Restaurant as a cook for over 20 years. Lila was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galloway and its Rosary Society. She enjoyed flower gardening and word searches. Lila was very family oriented. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with them.
Survivors include her children, Gustave (Ann) Weller Jr., Wittenberg, Joanne (Maynard) Witkowski, Elderon, Shirley Geiser, Amberg, WI, Richard (Marcia) Weller, Galloway, Ronald (sp. Friend Ginger) Weller, Kronenwetter, Diane (Charles) Rogalla, Eland, Kathy (Pat) Baker, Amherst, Mike (Carol) Weller, Almond, Greg (Dianne) Weller, Wittenberg, Theresa (Jeff) Schuh, Tigerton and Mark (Gloria) Weller, Omro; 36 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister; Mary Siede, Wittenberg, brother; Robert Brooks, Larsen, son-in-law; Jerald Dilge, Dothan, Alabama, son-in-law; Ray Dudzik, Tigerton and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lila was preceded in death by daughters Rosie Dudzik and Connie Dilge, granddaughter; Sara Dudzik, siblings; Anna Mae Thorson, John Brooks and Harold Brooks, granddaughter; Julie Geiser and son-in-law; Mike Geiser.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 5:00 pm, Thursday, June18, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Galloway. The Rev. Rex Zimmerman will officiate. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 3:30 pm at the church.
