Your strong support during the past few days of our Share Your Holidays food drive is helping thousands of families eat well this Christmas.
This year's drive had a record number of food donated. Thursday members of the Newschannel 7 staff loaded up a semi full of your donations and then dropped them off at the Neighbor's Place and Salvation Army food pantries in Wausau.
Leaders at the Neighbor's Place say this food will help families for months to come.
"When we can have this type of effort right before Christmas, it allows us to have a better supply of foods to give to these families when they come in in January and February," said Tom Rau, Executive Director of the Neighbor's Place.
You also helped us reach a new record in money donations. We brought in more than $43,000 with donations still coming in.
