The AM edition of the annual Celebrity Gas Pump for Share Your Holidays added $1104 to the fund. Dozens of bags of food were donated as well.
Members of the NewsChannel 7 staff pumped gas for people in return for a donation of food or money at the Wagner Shell Station in Weston Friday (12/13/13) morning. Donors also got a free cup of coffee and car wash.
A second Celebrity Gas Pump is set for 4 to 7pm Friday at the Wagner Shell Station on Stewart Ave. in Wausau.
The results of the AM gas pump are up by about $400 over 2012. A day marred by terrible weather last year. The weather was cold, but warmer then a bitterly cold spell that ended Thursday, the day before the pump this year.
Share Your Holidays is NewsChannel 7's annual food drive and fundraiser. This year, $35,000 has been pledged for matching grants. Meaning donations up to that amount will be doubled.
You can drop off food and money at the NewsChannel 7 studios and money at all River Valley Bank Branches.
Share Your Holidays Runs until December 20. It's sponsored by NewsChannel 7, River Valley Bank and JX Truck Center. Matching grants are provided by the bank, The Dudley Foundation and Halvorsen-Miller Family.
All of the food and money goes to the Salvation Army and Neighbor's Place food pantries.
