If you walk into the bar any night of the week, it won't take you long to figure out how the supper club got its name. Dozens of deer antlers hang above the bar area greeting customers each time they come in. Owners Lance and Vicki Olson both come from a long line of hunters, and that is what got them interested in creating the hunting themed restaurant.
"My parents had a deer farm. They had a lot of extra antlers to display because the deer lose their horns every winter. We cleaned them up, put them around the bar. " Vicki Explains.
The rest she says was history. The two have been collecting different items of taxidermy ever since and have been proudly displaying them around the restaurant.
Vicki and Lance credit much of the success of the supper club to being able to keep it all in the family. While they say it can be stressful at times, Vicki is proud to get everyone involved.
"Lance is my best friend and it's nice to come to work everyday with my best friend. To see my children come to work everyday , I am pretty fortunate that I can do that. " she says.
While the taxidermy is truly a sight to be seen, the food at Antlers is just as much of a spectacle. The items on the menu are as unique and diverse as the animals on the wall.
"It's typical Northeast Wisconsin supper club food. The Friday night perch, the haddock, the walleye, the steaks, it's all typical supper club fare. " Vicki and Lance say.
For now, the couple hopes to keep adding to the menu and the taxidermy collection for decades to come.
