On Thanksgiving morning, Eastbay hosted its third annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk. The entry fee was $20, and 100% of the registration fees were donated to the Marathon County Hunger Coalition, an initiative of the United Way, to help raise money to feed those in need during the holiday season.

The Turkey Trot has continued to grow every year. In 2010 they had just under 500 entrants and over $10,000 was donated, and in 2011 the entries doubled to just over 1000 and they donated $20,000 to the Hunger Coalition. This year they capped the number of participants at 1,500 and hope to buy more than 58 thousand pounds of food with the money they raise.
