KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- A 21-year-old man is expected to face charges in the death of a Kenosha woman whose body was found in a grass fire at a local park last month.
Police are asking the Kenosha County district attorney to charge the man with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 20-year-old Lashe Zalar. Firefighters discovered Zalar's body while extinquishing the brush fire at Nedweski Park July 9. A forensic pathologist who performed an autopsy said the woman's death was "related to the fire."
WGTD radio reports Kenosha Police Chief John Morrissey says DNA evidence was crucial to the investigation. The suspect is expected in court Thursday afternoon.
