Riverside Gym Hosts Run United Race

If you're looking to spend some quality time outside this weekend and want to do a good deed for the day, then we've got the perfect activity for you.

Riverside Athletic Club is teaming up with United Way for this years fourth annual Run United race. Merrill's Fire Department also has their hands in this weekend's festivities as well; they've enlisted help from The Spirit of Marshfield for a helicopter fly over to debut the event.

United Way's Dee Olsen says the race's proceeds will be distributed to 19 different agencies in the area who need the profits to function. Riverside's owner Paul Kienitz also enlisted several volunteer companies to contribute to the race's organizing and maximize community involvement.

Participants of the race have the option of walking or running, which makes the 5 or 10k a family friendly outing for all ages. Every individual involved will receive a dry-fit "Live United" T-shirt to strut as they run around the residential areas and country roads in town.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the actual race taking place at 10 a.m.
