Quick Fitness at the Playground

Fourth of July festivities kept most people out and about either watching fireworks, enjoying carnivals, or soaking up the sun in other outdoor adventures. But along with that excitement comes exhaustion.

YMCA Boot Camp Instructor Vickie Christianson says a great way to start your Monday morning off right on a high energy level after a busy weekend is by preparing a motivation ahead of time. She recommends taking a picture of yourself at your peak fitness level and keeping that to refer back to as a reminder that your goal is attainable.

Her motivation for this Monday morning starts with using resistance bands at the playground as part of a quick fitness routine. She says by tying the band around the structure and then putting the other handle around your foot, you can work your outer and inner thighs in a pull-away exercise that just takes minutes.
