The Wisconsin Governor's Council on Domestic Abuse and End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin are releasing a long range plan for domestic violence victim services in Wisconsin.

On Wednesday, August 27, advocates and survivors will be holding a news conference in Marshfield to announce the release of the plan and to support its call for greater investment in lifesaving support for domestic violence victims and their children.

The news conference in Marshfield will be one of several gatherings taking place statewide to raise awareness about domestic violence and the plan.

The plan is ultimately the product of consultation with survivors, advocates and community members from around Wisconsin and it identifies unmet needs and priority areas for the state's response to victims and children.

Something new with this plan, which changes about every 6 years, is that it will go live with a website. It will not only benefit the victims, but also organizations like the Personal Development Center in Marshfield, who we spoke with.
