A Walmart Supercenter should be open next year in Merrill.
The city council approved a permit for the retailer at the corner of Highway 64 and Pine Ridge Avenue this week.
Wal-mart plans to build a 120,000 square-foot facility.
It will include a full grocery and pharmacy and be open 24-hours.
The Supercenter is expected employ about 250 people.
The city and Walmart still need to reach a development agreement before construction begins.
