Big changes are coming to McDonald's, but you probably won't even notice.
The fast food giant said by 2022 it will only buy pork from farmers and others sources that do not use gestational stalls to house pregnant sows.
Those stalls confine the animals during the breeding and post-birth process.
This 10-year-plan comes amid an increasingly fierce battle, with farmers and agri-business on one side, and food safety and animal rights organizations on the other.
McDonald's new policy will only apply to its U.S. restaurants.
