A Stevens Point man accused of plotting to kill his estranged wife will spend two-and-half-years in prison and four-years on extended supervision. In April, Rocky Neuman, 51, pleaded to contest to charge of conspiracy to hid a corpse. Two other charged were dismissed, but read in. Meaning the judge was able to consider the charges at Neuman’s sentencing hearing.
Authorities say last May, Neuman had spoken to his roommate about killing his wife by strangling her. They also say Neuman had asked his roommate to help him dig a grave. He was arrested after the roommate recorded a conversation with him about burying the body.
Following his arrest, Neuman admitted he had already gone to get shovels.
Neuman will receive 406 days credit for time already spent in jail.
