You have an opportunity to make a difference in a child's life by making a donation to the Wausau Chapter of the Teddy Buddy Program. Here's how it works. All you have to do is donate a new plush toy to one of the locations listed below. Then those toys will be given by police officers and firefighters to kids in some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Here are some guidelines for the toys:
1. Must be NEW stuffed animals with tags still on them - this allows the Department to know that the stuffed animals meet federal regulations, such as being fire retardant.
2. Must be soft - so kids can cuddle them.
3. Must be no more than 16 inches tall - so kids can get their arms around the bears, and officers may fit them in their vehicles.
