After days of practicing jogging with a jar of peanut butter, a Weston got to hold the real thing Monday when she carried the Olympic Torch about 330 yards through Aylesbury, England.

Earlier this year, Peyton Medick, 14, was selected as one of 22 American to carry the Torch.

During an interview with NewsChannel 7 in March, Peyton Medick's mom, Teena told us she secretly entered Peyton as a candidate to carry the torch and didn't tell her that she was chosen until a full two months later.

Peyton started “Peyton's Promise” nearly six years ago. The organization collects food for those in need.

Peyton says that this opportunity is not about her, but it's about the people who have dedicated so much effort and love into Peyton's Promise. She says working with volunteers in the program has introduced her to the most inspiring people she's ever met.

Over the years, Peyton's Promise has collected more than 60 tons of food and raised thousands of dollars in behalf of the hungry.

Kyle Mandry, 48, a native of Wisconsin Rapids is also listed as a torchbearer. Mandry will carry the torch through Luton, England on Monday.
