Kids Can Dive into our Area's Rich History by Attending "Summer at the Museum: Kids Camp"

Now that we're nearing the end of July, it can get difficult to keep your kids entertained on their summer vacation. So, why not enroll them in "Summer at the Museum: Kids Camp."

The Marathon County Historical Society is offering the camp August 5th through the 8th at the Woodson History Center located at 410 McIndoe Street in Wausau. Youth ages 8-12 can take part in the program. To do that all you have to do is call 715-842-5750 by July 30th. There's a limited number of openings so you'll want to call right away.

The camp includes a walking tour through downtown Wausau as well as a tour along the Wisconsin River. Participants will also get to check out the Marathon County Historical Society's collection of artifacts and library of photos and documents to learn about the past.

Then, once all of the tours are over and the research is done, kids will help write, film and edit a video called "History in a Minute." that you can check out on the Historical Society's website posted below.
