MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A high ranking education official in President Obama's administration is making a visit to Milwaukee.
Assistant Secretary Brenda Dann-Messier, who heads the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, will speak to the Literacy Services of Wisconsin Monday.
Dann-Messier leads the department's efforts in adult, career and technical education, as well as community colleges and correctional education.
She is expected to discuss why adult basic education is an urgent priority and the role it plays in the economy.
