MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker said he will use his growing political celebrity to direct attention to Wisconsin.

Walker was in Washington, D.C., appearing with other governors at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and at a session with students at Marquette University's Les Aspin Center for Government. He also took questions from national journalists at a breakfast held by The Christian Science Monitor.

Walker said he wants to use the new attention to possibly attract companies.

Walker said Thursday his recall victory provides no assurance Republicans would carry Wisconsin in November. He said Mitt Romney "has a shot" but has to appeal to more than just Republicans and needs to hone his economic message.

Walker also wouldn't pick a favorite in the Republican Senate primary.
