It's time to unleash the superhero in you. Marathon County United Way Emerging Leaders is holding a "Fantastic 5K" on September 8th, named after the Fantastic 4 movie. Keeping with theme, they're asking you to dress up as your favorite superhero when you hit the pavement. Costumes are optional, but if you do dress up, you'll have a chance to win an iPod. NewsChannel 7's own Kristen Guilfoos will be among those judging the costumes that day.
Registration is at 8am in Machmueller Park in Weston. The children's races start at 9am and the adults begin at 10am. It's $20 per adult/$10 per child before the race or $25 per adult/$15 per child on race day. You can register ahead of time online up until August 30th by going to www.fantastic5k.com
