DEA National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27th.

You are being asked to drop off any old medications you have lying around your house so it can be safely disposed.

Organizers say this is a better option that flushing the meds down the toilet, because if you do that, our ground water can get contaminated. Also, by dropping off the meds, you prevent children from accidentally swallowing them.

On Saturday, April 27th from 10am-2pm, four locations within Marathon County will be taking part in the 6th National Medication Take Back Day.

Wausau, Colby-Abbotsford, Rothschild and Kronenwetter Police Departments will be partnering with the National Drug Enforcement Agency to collect unwanted and expired medications during their semi-annual drug take back initiative.

While Drug Take Back Day is being designated as this Saturday, there are several places around our area where you can drop of medicine any day of the week. The locations are
