As the end of the school year is fast approaching, many parents are making more exciting plans for their kids to begin summer camps, not to be mistaken with summer school. Central Wisconsin Children's Theater staff say they're especially working hard to make their upcoming camps memorable for students who are ready to hone in on their performing arts talents.
Whether you're into plays or musicals, the theater group here in Wausau is starting off their week-long summer camps this next month in June. Camp Director Joelle Murray says the program offers something exciting for every age group, from Camp Rock performances as seen on Disney to fairytale remixes like The Big Bad Wolf, a play where the wolf himself from Red Riding Hood goes on trial.
Murray says the theater is a non-profit group, so they put forth much effort into making a lot out of little funding, but by the looks of everything she admits you wouldn't be able to tell. She says the camps help fund much of what the theater is able to produce.
Registration is limited for the camps. The week long classes are $50 for children ages 4-6 and $100 for children 7 years of age and older.
