The ARDC of Central Wisconsin offers help when it comes to aging and disability concerns.
There are two different types of Benefit Specialists. Disability Benefit Specialists serve individuals with disabilities or questions regarding disabilities ages 18 to 59. Elder Benefit Specialists serve individuals ages 60 and over.
Julie Wolf, an Elder Benefit Specialist says, "A Benefit Specialist can help identify programs and benefits you may be entitled to. One way we can assist is through a benefit profile. If someone is struggling financially, we can take a look at the big picture and see if there is a way to free money up or obtain benefits. We can assist in organizing paperwork, applying for or retaining benefits. We can also advocate on your behalf with other parties involved. In some cases, we can help with appeals and denials of benefits. Many times individuals can identify their problem, but just don’t know where to begin. We can help people walk through systems step by step and break down a larger application process into manageable tasks. "
