Be Eco-Friendly this Christmas

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin environmental officials are reminding people to recycle all those holiday trimmings.

The Department of Natural Resources is urging people to look for gifts with little or no packaging.

The agency says people should shop for experiences and gifts that promote greener living, such as concert tickets or museum passes, bus tickets and rechargeable batteries.

The agency recommends putting used Christmas trees in the yard to provide winter cover for rabbits and birds and chip it into mulch in the spring reusing wrapping paper and recycling old electronics.
