Child injuries are on the rise nationwide. In fact, injuries are the leading cause of death in children up to age 5.

In hopes of curbing the problem, Ministry St. Clare's is offering a "Safe Sitter" program to 11-13 year olds who want to become better babysitters.

They are offering a one-day class that will cover everything from how to accept the right jobs, to child care basics like diaper-changing to first aid and choking rescue.

Safe Sitter classes are $50 per student and include a student handbook.

The classes will be held on the following dates from 9am - 4pm:
January 24
February 17
March 31
April 4
April 21

Advanced registration is requested and space is limited. You are encouraged to register at least one week in advance. You can register by contacting Michelle Pagel at 715-393-3046 or
