Area Family Works to Bring Awareness to Down Syndrome

According to the National Down Syndrome Society, 1 in every 691 babies born here in the U.S. has Down Syndrome. While they face cognitive and physical challenges they can go to school, graduate and even get a job too.

An area family stopped by Sunrise 7 Tuesday morning to talk about this genetic condition. Shannon Staskiewicz has an 18-month-old boy named Hunter. He has down syndrome but is like any other little one, adorable, full of energy and happy. Shannon is working to bring awareness to Down Syndrome.
