Winter enthusiasts looking to hit the trails have a growing list of options in the Northwoods.
Trails have already opened in Price County, and Vilas County will unlock the gates tomorrow.
Forestry officials in Oneida County say they're also getting ready.
Trails there are set to open Thursday at 8 in the morning.
Workers say they've been preparing to make it a fun and safe season on the sleds.
"Or personnel mow a lot of the trails, our Recreation Coordinator Eric Rosey, he inspects the trails, makes sure everything is safe," says Paul Fiene, with Oneida County.
Department leaders say for now, it's important to stay away from swamps and lakes that appear to be frozen.
Some bodies of water with high rates of flow may not be completely frozen.
Also, remember that cars and trucks have the right of way when crossing a highway or road.
