Gov. Scott Walker is giving a vigorous defense of his job performance to an adoring crowd at the annual Republican Party of Wisconsin convention.

Walker faces a recall election in a little over three weeks on June 5. Walker made an impassioned defense of his record at a speech on Saturday. He says, "We're turning things around. We're headed in the right direction. We're moving Wisconsin forward."

Walker also is reiterating his 2010 campaign pledge to create 250,000 private sector jobs by 2015. So far, only 5,600 have been created. But Walker says he has laid the foundation for success and he says his job creation plan will be fulfilled.

Walker's opponent in the recall, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, campaigned on the western side of Wisconsin on Saturday.
