MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker plans to campaign in Nebraska for Republican candidate for governor Pete Ricketts.
Walker's campaign spokesman said Thursday that Walker is scheduled to appear at a Jan. 27 rally for Ricketts in Omaha.
Ricketts is one of six Republicans running for the open governor's seat in Nebraska. Current Gov. Dave Heineman cannot run again due to term limits.
Ricketts and members of his family were big financial backers of Walker during his 2012 recall fight. Campaign finance records show Pete Ricketts donated $20,000 to Walker, his brother Todd Ricketts gave $55,000 and their father Joe Ricketts donated $100,000.
Additionally, the political action committee created by Joe Ricketts, the Ending Spending Action Fund, gave Walker $245,000.
