Local municipalities will have to decide whether or not concealed weapons will be allowed at polling sites next month.
According to state law, local officials can ban weapons at any polling place if they choose. They can also leave it up to the proprietor of the polling site.
Wisconsin Rapids City Clerk Shane Blaser says concealed weapons will be banned at their polling sites because of their location.
"Fortunately in Wisconsin Rapids we have our three polling places at a school so they're already gun free and they cannot carry concealed at those places," he said.
Because of that the issue hasn't come up in Wisconsin Rapids.
The Government Accountability Board says it really should be up to governing bodies, like city councils to make the decision.
