Among the familiar faces from Wis., Rep. Sean Duffy (R-7th District) is set to take the stage at the Republican National Convention Tuesday. He joins several other politicians from our state, including Rep. Paul Ryan (R-1st District) who will officially receive the vice presidential nomination this week. He says there's a lot of excitement heading into Tuesday's events, in part because Ryan is now on the ticket.
"I gotta tell you, I'm proud of him, that Wisconsin's hometown guy being picked to be the vice presidential candidate," Rep. Duffy said. "I think that's a testament to someone who's willing to put out big ideas, ideas that solve the problems that face this country."
Rep. Duffy, along with Ryan and Gov. Mitt Romney will speak about their plans to move the country forward, rebuild the economy and win in Nov.
"I'm excited to be a part of this Wis. team," Rep. Duffy said. "To have the honor to be able to speak at the convention is pretty cool."
He says it's remarkable that a state our size has such a prominent showing at the convention.
Some political experts caution that tropical storm Isaac may detract from the attention. But Rep. Duffy says their message will be heard.
