Former Portage County DA Tom Eagon sworn in as Judge

Former Portage County District Attorney Tom Eagon has been sworn in as Branch 1 Circuit Court Judge. The seat was vacated following the retirement of Judge Frederic Fleishauer.

Eagon has served as district attorney since 1995. He was named the State Prosecutor of the Year for 2011.

Eagon won the seat in the April 3 election.

In a news release, Eagon said, "Justice just doesn’t happen, it takes work and commitment.” “One has to listen to both sides, consider what each presents, research the law, then use common sense and intelligence to come to a fair decision. This is the process I use in the DA’s office and it will be the same process I use if elected judge.”
