Poll: Gov. Walker Has 7 Point Lead Over Mayor Barrett

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker continues campaigning at businesses across Wisconsin making his case that the state's economy is headed in the right direction under his leadership.
And a new poll released Wednesday shows voters appear to be siding with him.
The Marquette University Law School poll shows that 50 percent of respondents believe Walker will do a better job with the economy than his Democratic opponent Tom Barrett. Only 43 percent though Barrett would do a better job.
The new poll also shows Walker with a narrow 7-point lead heading into the election, 52 percent to 45 percent.
That lead is within the poll's margin of error of 4.1 percentage points. The random telephone poll of 600 likely voters was done between May 23 and Thursday.
