The national Democratic and Republican parties are spending millions in Wisconsin to influence two congressional races.

The Center for Responsive Politics says the parties have combined to spend $3.4 million in the two congressional districts that cover northern Wisconsin. The spending suggests that neither side is conceding anything as Democrats continue their longshot bid to take back the House.

The heaviest spending has been in the 7th District. The parties have spent $2.8 million there, where Republican Rep. Sean Duffy faces a challenge from former state senator Patrick Kreitlow.

In the 8th District, GOP Rep. Reid Ribble is taking on political newcomer Jamie Wall. The parties and other outside groups have spent $744,000 there.

Democrats need to win a net 25 seats to regain control of the House, an uphill task.
