SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- State Sen. Joe Leibham says he won't seek a recount in the Republican primary for Wisconsin's lone open congressional seat.

Leibham and state Sen. Glenn Grothman were the top two vote-getters in the Aug. 12 primary for their party's nomination to succeed retiring Rep. Tom Petri.

Official results submitted by boards of canvassers this week showed Grothman won by 219 votes.
But the margin was close enough that Leibham could have requested a free recount.

Leibham issued a statement Friday saying he had decided not to seek a recount. He says he's called Grothman to tell him of his decision and wish him well.

Grothman faces Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris, a Democrat, and Libertarian Gus Fahrendorf in the November general election.
