Republican Sen. Ron Johnson says he knows who he will vote for in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate, but he's not saying.
Johnson was asked about the Senate race following his appearance at a luncheon Tuesday in Madison hosted by the political website wispolitics.com.
Johnson says he will back whoever the nominee is and that is why he's not endorsing anyone or saying who he intends to vote for.
Johnson was elected two years ago in his first campaign with tea party support. Johnson says he hasn't made up his mind about whether he will seek re-election.
Four candidates are seeking the Republican nomination in the Aug. 14 primary. They are Tommy Thompson, Eric Hovde, Mark Neumann and Jeff Fitzgerald. Tammy Baldwin is the only Democrat running.
