MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- In-person absentee voting has begun for Wisconsin's primary, now about two weeks away.

The state Government Accountability Board says it will be the first time Wisconsin's partisan primaries have been held in August since 1946.

The usual September primary was moved up this year so the state can comply with a federal law aimed at giving military and overseas voters enough time to cast their absentee ballots.
