ELECTION AUTHORITY: Louis Molepske Jr. to Move Forward in Portage Co. D.A. Race

Former State Rep. Louis Molepske Jr. will be Portage County's next district attorney, barring no write-in candidates beat him in November's general election.

Molepske beat Portage County Assistant District Attorney Veronica Isherwood in Tuesday's partisan primary with 65 percent of the vote.

At his victory party Tuesday night, Molepske thanked his supporters.

"The position it has a lot of authority, a lot of responsibility and I think where it's going people are comfortable with Louis Molepske as their next district attorney and if it wasn't for the people that went out and pounded on the doors, wrote the letters, helped me with fundraising we wouldn't be where we are today," he said.

The district attorney position is open after Tom Eagon became a circuit court judge.
