Convenience Store Gets Thumbs Down from Wausau City Council

The Wausau City Council is giving the thumbs down to a new convenience store on the city's west side.

The proposal, which would have lead to a new Kwik Trip at Bridge St. and Stevens Dr. failed in a 7-4 vote Tuesday night (2/25/14).

The development would have included a gas station and car wash as well.

Many people in the neighborhood opposed the idea, even circulating a petition against it.

The city plan commission also rejected the idea at it's meeting last month.
